December 2002
The December issue of S&V features
Noise and Vibration Control. The cover art shows a B&K PULSE (TM) analyzer surveying a BMW vehicle.
Inside, the editorial "spreads the word" about the NCAC, while the Observer tries to clear up some
of the confusion about steel resilient channels for sound-rated walls. The S&V Online Discussion
Board is introduced with a brief tutorial and a 'mini-feature' looks at converting analog signals to
digital format. The lead feature article is a must-read capstone of Paul Schomer's work in
normalizing DNL, while the second feature reviews the effectiveness of diamond grinding roadways to
reduce tire noise.
